Tesla - New Models in 2025

Tesla est sur le point de renouveler son populaire SUV compact, le Model Y, dans le cadre du projet “Juniper”

American carmaker Tesla is going through a period of financial turbulence, with a 45 % drop in net profit in the second quarter. To reverse this trend and restore its margins, Tesla has taken a strategic decision to bring forward the release date of its new models, including more affordable vehicles, to the first half of 2025. This move is particularly relevant to markets such as Switzerland, where demand for premium electric vehicles remains strong. Here's what we know about these eagerly-awaited new models, which should also be well received in Switzerland.

A New Model Y under the "Juniper" Project

Tesla is set to revamp its popular compact SUV, the Model Y, as part of the 'Juniper' project. This model will benefit from an aesthetic and technological overhaul, following in the footsteps of the recent Model 3 'Highland', which redefined the appearance of the brand's entry-level electric saloon.

Le Model Y 2025 should incorporate a number of significant improvements, including

  • A new design Inspired by developments on the Model 3 "Highland", the new Model Y will have a more modern look, with cleaner lines and optimised aerodynamics, which will undoubtedly appeal to Swiss drivers who are sensitive to design and energy efficiency.
  • Technological improvements The Swiss market: Major updates are expected for infotainment, Autopilot and autonomous driving capabilities, as well as better integration of remote software updates, features that are highly valued in the Swiss market.
  • Increased energy efficiency Tesla could introduce new batteries or optimise existing ones to offer even greater autonomy, a considerable advantage in Switzerland where journeys can vary from city to mountain.

A more affordable model in sight

Alongside the Juniper project, Tesla is also working on a more affordable vehicle that could appear in 2025. This model would aim to make Tesla technology accessible to a wider range of consumers, including in Switzerland, where the high cost of living makes affordable vehicles particularly attractive.

  • Competitive prices While details are still limited, this new model could be offered at a significantly lower price than the Model 3, while retaining the performance and quality associated with the Tesla brand. This would enable a wider Swiss audience to turn to electric mobility.
  • Balanced performance The new car will be more affordable, but will not compromise on performance. It could use technologies similar to those of other Tesla models, with competitive range and recharging speed - crucial aspects for Swiss buyers.

Why these New Models in 2025?

Tesla's decision to launch these new models in 2025 is a strategic one. In response to falling margins, the brand aims to boost demand and attract new customers by offering vehicles that are both innovative and more accessible. In Switzerland, where the electric vehicle market is booming, this strategy could enable Tesla to strengthen its dominant position.
